Sabrina Coleman-Pinheiro (b.1990) is a visual artist of Nigerian, British and Sudanese lineage based in Lagos. She has a B.A in Business and Fine Art. Her work is a mixture of figurative and abstract forms.
She creates art to catalogue her constant battles with anxiety and depression; with a goal to encourage discussions on our understanding and view of mental health within our society.
Her art seeks to connect her viewers to the universality of her experiences, while reducing the stigma around mental illness.
Her work is inspired by her love for colours, the abstraction of form and how these affect human emotions. She is inspired by Joan Mitchell, Stephen Quiller, Sam Gilliam and Kathe Kollowitz.
