Jola Ayeye is a screenwriter, producer, podcaster and women’s rights advocate. After completing a degree in politics and philosophy at University of Durham, she moved back to Nigeria to work at Big Cabal Media before setting up her own production company, Salt & Truth in 2018. I Said What I Said, the podcast she cohosts, is the biggest and most popular in Nigeria.
A founding member of the feminist coalition, she is passionate about the quality of the lives of women and has volunteered with women’s advocacy organisations such as Stand To End Rape, lending her voice and time to speaking about gender based violence against women and the ways in which society can be reorganised to create a fairer and safer world. An avid book lover, she created and runs the Happy Noisemaker Book Club, encouraging the growing community to read and share more books, particularly those written by women and people of colour.
