ABDULKAREEM BABA AMINU

Born in Kaduna on the 7th of July, Abdulkareem Baba Aminu is a writer, editor, artist, cartoonist, and poet. Based in Abuja, Nigeria, the award-winning journalist has served as the editor of a major Nigerian newspaper for 12 years. He currently serves as a member of the Editorial Board of Daily Trust newspaper, where he also pens a weekly column, in addition to a back-page editorial cartoon, ‘Back Hand’, which has been running for almost two decades. He also contributes bi-weekly strips to German media giant Deutsche Welle, in the Hausa language.

Baba Aminu created illustrations early this year for Who’s Who in The Yoruba Pantheon (Iwalewa Books). His most recent written and illustrated work can be seen in The Most Important Comic Book on Earth (DK Books), an anthology due out in October (UK) and November (US) 2021. He is hard at work on his first novel.
