Femi Elufowoju, jr is the Creative director of Elufowoju jr Ensemble. He read Law at Ife University and trained as an actor at Bretton Hall (He plays African warlord Marlon Krill, in Jason Statham’s 2016 Hollywood action thriller Mechanic Resurrection). He trained as a theatre director under Philip Hedley in 1997 and became the first theatre director of African descent to establish a National touring company in the UK (Tiata Fahodzi). He artistically led the company for 13 years, directing and presenting over 30 plays including his production of Oladipo Agboluaje’s Iya-Ile (nominated for the prestigious Olivier Award). More recently, Elufowoju jr worked as an Associate Producer on Wakaa the Musical and directed Bonnie Greer’s The Hotel Cerise for Theatre Royal Stratford East. The Elufowoju jr Ensemble aims to produce and tour nationally a UK edition of Lola Shoneyin/Rotimi Babatunde’s The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives next year.
